English Basketball executive, Nana Yaw Pops Mensah-Bonsu has expressed his desire to make an impact by helping the youth of Ghana.
The former NBA player believed that his parents’ sacrifice to give him the best opportunities to attain success needed to be replicated towards the youth of Ghana on a larger scale with his platform. “Our parents sacrificed so that we could have a better opportunity in life; I was able to go to university in the States, played basketball and went on to the NBA.”
Speaking on Y107.9FM’s RyseNShyne with host Brown Berry, the former NBA player highlighted that Ghana is his home and added that “It is part of my responsibility to reciprocate what my parents did for me.”
The baller revealed that basketball presents Ghanaians with international opportunities which can promote the nation and also help the youth of Ghana.
The Seed Academy executive admitted that not all youth are going to play as NBA stars, however the platform he has created serves as an avenue for all Ghanaian youth to play a role in putting Basketball in Ghana on an international stage.
Seed Academy Ghana aims to create awareness and promote basketball in Ghana, to develop prospects and give the younger generation an opportunity to attain success through the sport.
