Salah Kweku Kalmoni, Executive Director of Lakeside Estate has unveiled an ambitious overhaul of its famous Lakeside Marina Park during a memorable celebration to commemorate two decades of family fun and festivities.
The rebranding to Lakeside Marina Theme Park is slated to replace the well-known Lakeside Marina Recreation Park, with some additional improvements and upgrade.
What began as Agriculture Limited in 1974 as part of the “Operation Feed Yourself” campaign has blossomed into a remarkable Pan-African tourist destination. The visionaries behind this transformation, including the late Alhaji Kalmoni, a dedicated part-time farmer and the founder’s father, expanded the operations to two farms. In homage to their forefathers and tradition, the lake on the estate was aptly named “Kalmoni.”
Over the past two decades, Lakeside Marina Park has earned acclaim as a haven for festive family gatherings, recreational activities, and milestone celebrations such as birthdays, achievements, and weddings. Last month, a new chapter was written in the estate’s history with the inauguration of the Marina Lakeside Boating Club, taking full advantage of the expansive 12-acre lake.
But this milestone is just the beginning. The Lakeside Marina Theme Park is the vision for the next two decades. It will be divided into 10 distinct zones, each promising a unique and thrilling experience. One of the highlights is the Regional Zone, spanning two acres, offering a glimpse into the rich and diverse heritage of the region.
Salah Kweku Kalmoni, the visionary leader behind this endeavor, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We are in the business of selling festive family fun, and our journey from a small agricultural operation to this magnificent theme park is a testament to our commitment to creating unforgettable memories for families and tourists alike.”
The Lakeside Marina Theme Park’s future is set to add more fun and adventure to the visitor experience, with some zones featuring captivating art exhibitions. As Lakeside Estate marks its 20th anniversary, the transformation to Lakeside Marina Theme Park is a fitting tribute to its history, the rich cultural heritage, and the promise of many more years of joy, adventure, and celebration.
