American Football player, Jeremiah Owusu Koramoah has expressed his reason behind his consistent representation of Africa in the NFL.
The National Football League (NFL) is America’s headlining professional American football league.
In an interview on Y107.9FM’s ShoutsOnY, with host Winston Micheals, the trend-setter intimated that the move expresses the dynamic nature of African culture to stand out and be recognized in the United States. “In a sense it’s dynamic; there’s two sides but I would not say that one dominates over the other in this setting but it’s just who I am; representing who I am in the presence of a different culture, a different economy, a different lifestyle.”
The Cleveland Browns linebacker noted that his acts of representing Africa, he expresses his willingness to always trace his roots back to Africa- specifically Ghana. “Growing up in America has been useful but you always have to know that there is point where you must return back home.”
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, set a pace in representing Africa at the NFL since the beginning of the season in 2023. Strapping himself in the Ghanaian kente cloth and complimenting kente slippers for matches, has been adapted by many other players with African descent even till this day.
