Only One Ghanaian Player Nominated For 2016 Glo-CAF African Player of the Year Award

Ghana deputy skipper Andre Ayew has been nominated in a 30-man list for the 2016 Glo-CAF Awards.
The Confederation of African Football on Saturday published the thirty man list that included veteran Cameroon striker Samuel Eto, Dortmund’s Pierre Aubameyang, Kenya’s victor Wanyama, and Ivory Coast & PSG defender Serge Aurier.
The crocked West Ham star was the only Ghanaian nominated for the flagship award following his sterling performances for both club and country.
The list will be further pruned down to a shortlist of three who will mount the podium in January next year.
Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez is heavily favoured to win the award after his sensational performance saw him win a historic Premier League title with Leicester City.

The 2016 Glo-CAF Awards will be held on Thursday, 05 January, 2017 at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
