Speaking candidly about her childhood dreams, Associate Professor of Pharmacology at K. N. U. S. T. and wife of renowned Ghanaian rapper, Linford Kennedy Amankwaah, also known as ‘Kojo Cue’, has talked about her childhood dreams and how ah had to give those dreams up in order to concentrate on her where, she later realized, was her strength.
The neuropharmacologist stated that she had always hoped to work for the World Bank, an international financial organization
Prof. Kolibea Mante did, however, note that because she was doing Integrated Science in the Arts class during her first year at Wesley Girls’ High School in Cape Coast, she felt more comfortable with Science content than General Arts ones, and that further fuelled her interest in Science.
In an interview with Abena Kay on PinkOnY, a midweek show on Y FM Kumasi that celebrates women who are rewriting history to challenge the status quo, the gorgeous mother-turned-lecturer revealled that she always had a different career path in mind when she was younger.
The stunning Professor revealed and laughed loudly, “I actually thought I would become the President of World Bank. At the age of fifteen, I just saw the then president of the World Bank on TV and I just felt this guy has a cool job, I want his job.”
She said that although she didn’t have a particular motivation, she thought it would be cool to be president of the World Bank when she grew up. “He was giving a talk, and just the setting and the things he was speaking on, I just felt like this is something I can do, or something I want to do. So, I didn’t think I would become a professor”, rap head Kojo Cue’s wife expressed
According to the highly-esteemed academician, she entered high school as a General Arts student because of the dream to become World Bank president one day. “Interestingly, I went to high school with that dream, so I went to high school as a General Arts student because I wasn’t sure what you have to do to become the president of World Bank.
The esteemed scholar claims that she enrolled in General Arts high school with the goal of one day becoming president of the World Bank. The academician told Abena Kay, “Interestingly, I went to high school with that dream, so I went to high school as a General Arts student because I wasn’t sure what you have to do to become the president of World Bank. But I just felt if I could speak French then I can get this job.”
She laughed as she explained why she chose Science, “I went to high school and did General Arts because I wanted to learn French…. but after sitting in the General Arts class for some time, it wasn’t working for me so I went to ask that they change for me to do Science, and that’s why I came to do Science.”
Prof. Priscilla Kolibea Mante is a registered pharmacist and a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGh) and the West African Society for Pharmacology (WASP/SOAP) in addition to being the spouse of Ghanaian rap icon, Kojo Cue.
