Under the theme “Connecting The Next Generation Of Entrepreneurs,” Telecel Ghana officially launched the 8th edition of its annual SME Month at its Accra headquarters today, September 2, 2025 unveiling an ambitious lineup of initiatives aimed at empowering Ghana’s emerging business leaders, particularly the youth and women-led enterprises.

This year’s event isn’t just another campaign—it’s a statement. A statement about the future of business in Ghana and the need to embrace technology, community, and creativity to fuel growth and sustainability among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Tara Bolarin, Director of the Enterprise Business Unit at Telecel Ghana, shared insights into what sets this year’s SME Month apart.

“I want to talk about the programs that we have this year and what makes this year different,”Bolarin said. “The first one is what we call the Connection Hustle Podcast. This year we are calling it 2.0 because it is the second edition that we have actually revitalized. This is where young businesses will share new role or filter stories of building something from nothing.”

From exploring topics like “cloud versus clients” to navigating life in the “digital hustle space,” the Connection Hustle Podcast 2.0 offers young entrepreneurs a platform to exchange raw, authentic stories of resilience and innovation.

Complementing this is the Red Mixer, which Bolarin describes as a “high energy space where ideas meet opportunity.” It’s a networking environment designed to spark meaningful collaborations between startups and industry veterans.

“Entrepreneurs will connect with industry leaders. They will build partnerships and spark collaborations that will change their businesses for better,” she noted.

A particularly future-forward addition this year is the Telescope Garden and Google AI Workshop—a 3-day AI training masterclass that gives entrepreneurs hands-on tools and insights to leverage artificial intelligence in their operations.

“We are in the AI generation,”* Bolarin emphasized. “We cannot have a lesson in math without thinking about how businesses can be more efficient and deliver more and be more with AI.”

Then there’s Red Pop-Up Box, a grassroots activation strategy that brings Telecel’s support directly into communities.

“We will take activations into the heart of our communities. We will meet entrepreneurs where they are. We will enable them to showcase solutions on high human traffic areas so that they can hear directly from their customers,” she added.

Alfred Neizer, Head of SME at Telecel Ghana, announced three new “Hero Products” designed to make doing business simpler, faster, and more impactful for SMEs across the country.

“First and most importantly, we’ve designed a package for young entrepreneurs running their hustles on the move,” Neizer said. “It comes with affordable data, social media bundles, voice services, and even a self-service SMS marketing portal—so you can stay connected and keep your customers closer than ever.”

Next is One Business Mobile, tailored for small teams and collaborative startups.

“This plan combines competitive, shareable data, calls, and SMS across all networks, while also offering essentials like business websites and professional emails to help small businesses stay ahead of the curve,” he explained.

The final offering, Your Business Online Reloaded, addresses a fundamental modern business need: a digital footprint.

“It is the most affordable option on the market, offering professionally designed and maintained websites with unlimited pages, domain name registration, and business emails—helping SMEs build visibility and trust in the digital marketplace,” Neizer noted.

Last year, over 500 women-led businesses signed up for Telecel’s SME business solutions, including website packages. This milestone is now serving as the launchpad for this year’s push, which places strong emphasis on youth-led innovation and technology adoption.
