The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Digital Centres Limited (GDCL), Christine Ansong, Esq., has been called to the Ghana Bar on Friday, 10 October 2025. This achievement follows years of dedication and study, further strengthening the organisation’s leadership capacity as it continues to drive digital transformation across the country

Christine Ansong’s admission to the Bar comes at a pivotal time for Ghana Digital Centres as the organisation scales its operations nationwide. Her legal expertise will be invaluable in navigating the complex policy frameworks, data protection regulations, and digital rights issues that shape Ghana’s technology sector. From contracts with international partners to ensuring compliance with emerging ICT legislation, her dual expertise in organisational leadership and law positions GDCL to operate with greater integrity and strategic foresight.

“Christine Ansong’s achievement reflects her commitment to excellence and lifelong learning,” said Dzifa Gunu, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Digital Centres Limited. “As we work to replicate the Accra Digital Centre model across Ghana and create thousands more digital jobs, having legal expertise at our leadership table ensures we build on solid foundations. This is not just a personal victory for Christine, it’s a win for our entire organisation and the communities we serve.”

Reflecting on her journey and what this milestone means for her work at GDCL, Christine Ansong shared, “This has been a dream years in the making, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to combine my legal training with my passion for digital innovation. At Ghana Digital Centres, we’re building something transformative for this country, and I’m excited to use my legal knowledge to ensure we do it right, protecting the interests of our stakeholders, partners, and the young people we serve. The law is not just about litigation, it’s about creating frameworks for growth, fairness, and opportunity.”

One close associate noted, “Christine has always been someone who prepares thoroughly and gives her absolute best. Watching her balance her demanding role at GDCL whilst pursuing her legal qualifications has been truly inspiring. She’s shown that with focus and faith, dreams do become reality.”

This personal milestone comes as Ghana Digital Centres continues to make significant strides in its mission to democratise digital access and create economic opportunities for Ghanaians. The organisation currently operates at 60% occupancy, hosting over 60 technology companies and having created more than 3,000 digital jobs. Through partnerships with the World Bank, JICA, Oracle, GIZ, MTN, Telecel, KNUST, and the University of Ghana, GDCL has supported over 500 startups and trained more than 10,000 young people in essential digital skills.
