Deputy Chief Executive Officer in Charge of Marketing and Special Duties at the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Abeiku Santana, has praised Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale for his steadfast commitment to elevating the value of creatives in Ghana.
In an interview with host of Y107.9FM’s Myd Morning Radio show, Rev Erskine, Abeku Santana made this revelation while delivering insights on the dynamics of Ghanaian creatives and their evolution especially in the music sector. “There’s a difference between you as an individual as a brand and you a creative as a business,” he shared.
“People would want to be friends of a creative but when it comes to money, oh chale come pass through small give me.” he added.
Santana highlighted that Shatta Wale’s perseverance in demanding recognition for artists has significantly increased their value and earnings. “Shatta fought for the idea that our creatives must be valued. Because of him, artists enjoy what they have today; they no longer have to beg to be featured on shows they now host their own major events.”
