Spanish club RC Celta de Vigo have completed the permanent signing of Ghana’s Bernard Somuah Sarpong from Asante Kotoko SC, securing the teenager on a long-term contract until June 2030.
The 19-year-old winger initially joined Celta on a season-long loan in August 2024 with an option to buy. After impressing during his spell in Spain, the La Liga side activated the purchase clause, signaling strong confidence in his future.
Somuah quickly progressed through the ranks at Balaídos, moving from the Juvenil A side to Celta Fortuna, where he made his Primera Federación debut against Zamora.
He has since become a key player under coach Fredi Álvarez, clocking over 800 minutes in Spain’s third tier and scoring five goals.
Known for his pace, direct attacking style and confidence in one-on-one situations, the Ghanaian winger notably scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner against Talavera, a goal that boosted Celta Fortuna’s promotion push. The reserve side currently sit second on 48 points, firmly in contention for promotion.
