Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the senior men’s national team with immediate effect.
The decision follows a series of dissapointing performances, including recent friendly defeats to Austria and Germany, which raised concerns about the team’s form and preparedness ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
In a statement announcing the decision, the GFA expressed appreciation to Addo for his service and contribution to Ghanaian football.
“The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours,” the statement said.
Addo, who previously led the Black Stars through key international assignments, including the 2022 FIFA World Cup, departs at a crucial time as the team intensifies preparations for the upcoming tournament.
Ghana faces a tough challenge in Group L of the World Cup, where they are set to take on England, Panama, and Croatia.
