Ghanaian rapper and songwriter Black Sherif has secured his first award of the night at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards, winning the Best Hip Hop Song category with Where Dem Boys.
The record emerged as one of the strongest hip-hop releases of the year, earning massive streaming numbers and strong critical reception throughout the TGMA season.
Receiving the award on stage, the rapper, born Mohammed Ismail Sherif, expressed gratitude to God, his fans and family for their support. “In the name of the true and the Living God Most Merciful and Compassionate. I Mohammed Ismail Sherrif is back on this stage once again. Thank you so much to my fans who stream my music. Thank you so much to my family, I love you guys so much. We have Hip Hop Song of the Year, this is the second time and we will be back again,” he stated.
The win further strengthens Black Sherif’s momentum heading into the major categories of the night, especially the highly contested Artiste of the Year race, where he remains one of the strongest favourites.
