Ghanaian music sensation Black Sherif has officially been crowned Artiste of the Year at the 27th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, marking another defining milestone in his rapidly rising career.
The award comes after a year of immense musical impact from the “Popstar” hitmaker, whose artistry, storytelling, performances, and influence continued to resonate deeply with audiences across Ghana and beyond. From sold-out performances to chart-dominating releases, Black Sherif’s presence throughout the year positioned him as one of the strongest contenders for the night’s highest honour.
Taking to the stage after receiving the award, Black Sherif expressed gratitude to God, his team, family, and fans who have supported his journey.
““In the name of the true and the Living God Most Merciful and Compassionate, we are Artiste of the Year again” he said.
The award-winning musician also reflected on the sacrifices and determination that have shaped his path in the industry.
“I can’t say thank you enough but I love you and the music is still coming. It’s Popstar Season.”
His victory has sparked massive reactions both inside the auditorium and across social media, with fans and industry players celebrating what many described as a well-deserved recognition for consistency and originality.
With the Artiste of the Year title taken over from King Promise who won in 2025, Black Sherrif goes home with three awards in total, Album/EP of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Hip Hop Song of the Year, which adds to his growing list of accolades.
