ETV Ghana in collaboration with Japan Motors has donated sports items worth over 3000 Ghana Cedis to the Ghana Blind Union. This is in fulfilment of donating five percent of the proceeds from the e.TV/Japan Motors Corporate Run event.
Some of the items donated are padded jerseys, knee pad, shin guard, elbow pad and many others.
According to Mrs Hilda Peasah, Marketing Manager of Japan Motors, ‘this is the 6th time Japan Motors and e.TV are embarking on such an exercise after a successful corporate run event. Aside keeping fit which is the main aim of the corporate run event, supporting the marginalized in our society is one of our core objectives of organizing corporate run.’’
She urged other corporate institutions to organize such innovative events to assist the needy in the country.
Receiving the items, Dr. Peter Obeng Asamoah, Executive Director of the Ghana Blind Union, said, ‘the Ghana Blind Union wants support and opportunities from the society to excel and not sympathy.’’ He promised that the sports kits will be put to good use and also help develop the talents of their members.
