Ghana’s leading telecommunications network, MTN Ghana is this year joining the South African community in Ghana, as headline sponsor, to mark the 23rd anniversary of South Africa’s Freedom Day.
The annual tournament is scheduled for the 29th of April, 2017 at the Celebrity Golf Course in Sakumono, Tema. The event is the fourth in Ghana since its commencement. Competing golfers from South Africa will join their counterparts in Ghana for the much awaited game.
MTN Ghana has a long history of spearheading sporting events in the country and the Golf event is one of the many tournaments adopted by the telecommunications company this year.
Speaking on the company’s interest in the tourney, the Chief Marketing officer of MTN Ghana Mr. Asher Khan said; “We are excited to partner the South African Freedom Day golf event. Golf is one activity that creates the opportunity for us to engage our corporate clients who have very busy schedules. Through these engagements we solicit feedback that enables to serve them better. For us, supporting the South African tournament gives us more opportunity to engage the South African business community in Ghana.”

Freedom Day is an annual celebration of South Africa’s first non-racial democratic elections of 1994. Peace, unity, the preservation and the restoration of human dignity hallmark Freedom Day celebrations on the 27th of April of each year.
Special Guest of Honour for the event is the South African High Commissioner to Ghana Her Excellency Lulama Xingwana. Other dignitaries will also grace the occasion.
