There has been another update on the Philippe Coutinho transfer saga.
Barcelona have made no secret about their desire to sign the Liverpool star. Following the mega sale of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain for a world record fee, the club have identified his replacement.
From Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Demble to AS Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe. But while the club pursue the pair of exciting Frenchmen, the Catalans have pinpointed Coutinho as their No.1 choice.
They’ve tabled a few monster offers with Liverpool rebuffing them all including a whopping £118 million bid. Though details emerged of the deal which included just £80 million up front, with a lucrative Ballon d’Or clause inserted.
But the offer is still on the table. What’s more, Barcelona have imposed a bizarre deadline. The club contacted Liverpool on Friday to inform them that they have until Sunday evening to change their mind, according to The Times.
Paul Joyce details the proposed deal by saying the bid which has already been rejected, is now being threatened to be off the table. Will Liverpool succumb to Barcelona’s deadline?
Though there are also other reports suggesting that Barcelona are plotting an increased offer. The club are reportedly set of bid a mammoth £130 million per The Express.
Liverpool have believed to slapped a £140 million price tag on their brilliant Brazilian with Barcelona apparently edging closer to their valuation.
From signing a five-year contract earlier in the year, to Liverpool releasing an official statement and the player handing in a transfer request. The Coutinho transfer saga rumbles on.
Where will the 25-year-old be plying his trade once the window slams shut?
