What Neymar Said To His Ex-Teammates Prior To PSG's Champions League Exit

In the wake of PSG’s exit from the Champions League at the hands of Real Madrid, there’s a pretty big story coming from Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo involving Neymar.

Since making his record-breaking £198 million switch to the French capital, the 26-year old has scored 28 goals and chipped in with 16 assists in all competitions and really relished being the main man in Unai Emery’s side and giving himself a great chance of winning the Ballon d’Or for the first time.
However, Mundo Deportivo claim that even before PSG were eliminated by holders Real at the last 16 stage, and prior to his ankle injury that is set to keep him sidelined for three months, Neymar has been in touch with former teammates and officials at Barcelona to tell them he regrets making the move, as well as informing them of his desire to return to the Blaugrana in the future.
It was reported throughout the summer that a key reason as to why Neymar surprised the footballing world to move to France was so that the spotlight would be firmly on him, which of course was never the case at Barcelona as Lionel Messi was there.
Yet it’s said in this fresh report that Neymar accepts he was stubborn in his attempt to escape Messi’s shadow, while he has apparently been surprised that Ligue One is so inferior to La Liga.
Having splashed out big money on his compatriot Philippe Coutinho in January, in addition to his direct replacement Ousmane Dembele in the summer window, Barca don’t have any interest in bringing the Selecao star back to the Nou Camp this season.

Though, it’s noted that Neymar himself doesn’t want an immediate return to Catalonia; his plan is to play another season at PSG before going back to his old stomping ground for the 2019/20 campaign.
Real Madrid have been heavily linked with making the Brazil ace their next big ‘Galactico’ signing’, with some people feeling as though Neymar is using his old club to boost his chances of joining Los Blancos.
Can you see Neymar returning to Barcelona? Is a move to Real inevitable?
