The collective cost of the world’s most expensive starting XI is quite unbelievable.
The amount totals at £1.029 billion, with the sum worked out with fees already paid, not fees that have been agreed and but are yet to be paid out.

We’re not sure whether money in football is affecting the game too much. What used to cost a team £30 million some ten years ago could be worth up to £100 million today. What matters is the supporters are not priced out by match-day tickets.
