According to the front page of Spanish publication ‘Mundo Deportivo’ on Wednesday, PSG star Neymar is open to a return to Barcelona in the future. The claim that the forward has offered his services to his former side on several occasions and that the Spanish champions now weighing up whether to pursue a deal.
After a summer in which the Samba star was continually linked with a move to Barcelona’s great rivals Real Madrid, the situation appears to have taken a sudden and unexpected turn in the other direction. Such has been the change of curcumstances that it now appears Neymar could return to former side Barcelona, something which seemed impossible just a matter of mere months ago.
The aforementioned source claimed on Wednesday that“Neymar isn’t impossible.” That view was based largely on the fact that the player himself has made his willingness to return to the Camp Nou clear, causing Barca to reconsider an option that had previously not appeared to be on the table.
“Barca are no longer ruling it out out of hand. Club chiefs will only press on with the deal if the coaching staff give the green light,” the report added, leaving the ball firmly in Ernesto Valverde’s court. If the Barca boss gives his seal of approval, Barca bigwigs will open talks their counterparts in the French capital.
Despite the Brazilian’s move been a surprising one at the time there have been signs that he misses life in Catalonia, namely his frequent visits to Barca’s training ground and the fact that he misses the likes of close friend Leo Messi.
However, it should be pointed out that any move for the ‘Seleçao’ star would be fraught with difficulties. PSG are adamant that they have no intention of selling their key player, whilst there is also the rival interest from Real Madrid to factor into the equation, with ‘COPE’ reporting that Neymar and Christian Eriksen top Madrid’s wishlist for next summer.
