Paul Pogba’s brother has slammed former Manchester United manager José Mourinho as the main problem at the club.
“From what we see of Mourinho, he always wants to be the maestro — the centre of attention.
“Paul, he does not even calculate that aspect, you respect him, he will respect you, you trust him, he will perform for you in big matches.”
The 55-year-old Portuguese manager became embroiled in a heated battle with the United midfielder this season.
The former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan boss dropped Pogba to the bench, not to mention that he stripped him of the vice-captaincy.
Mourinho’s time at Old Trafford came to an end last month after the club sacked him. Since then, United have appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjær as caretaker manager until the end of the season.
Under the 45-year-old Norwegian, Pogba has had a resurgence in his form and once again become an integral part of the team.
Last week, United midfielder Ander Herrera praised the World Cup-winning Frenchman for his recent performances.
“He is very important for the club — [on] the pitch and out of the pitch as well,” he said (via the Independent).
“He’s playing really, really well. Not only with the ball. I think as soon as we lose the ball he is ready to defend, ready to help the team.
“He is playing very simple and effective in our half, and then when he is in the opponent’s half he has that magic to change the game, so we are really happy for him.
“I think Nemanja [Matić] and me today, or the other players, we have to help him to make him feel free and that’s what we’re doing.”
