It is looking likely that Lionel Messi will miss El Clasico after sustaining a groin injury during his side’s draw with Valencia on Saturday. Barcelona have not yet released full details regarding the Argentinian’s fitness although some reports suggest the injury is not serious enough to prevent him from facing Madrid at the Camp Nou stadium on Wednesday.
Valverde will be hopeful that his star man will be fit enough for the starting lineup as Barcelona prepare for what will be one of the biggest games of their season.
