Vodafone Homecoming: 108 patients given freedom

Vodafone Ghana Foundation has paid for the medical bills of about 108 patients across the country to give them the opportunity to celebrate the independence holiday home.
The foundation spent about GHC 250, 000 on medical bills for the patients.
The move which is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of Vodafone Ghana been in existence for years.
The External Affairs and Legal Director at Vodafone Ghana Gayheart Mensah said the initiative is part of efforts to support government’s effort in ensure good health for Ghanaians.
“Government has always been interested in promoting good health for Ghanaians. Government is committed to the Sustainable Development Goals which has health as one of the seventeen priority areas. So for us at Vodafone we consider it important to support government in delivering on some of the SDGs; Health included.”
He added that, “We see this Homecoming initiative as part of our contribution to supporting government in order to deliver health to Ghanaians”
The Foundation was set up to show interest in the general development of communities Vodafone operates.
The Foundation has drafted sustainable initiatives that drive social change, improve people’s lives and solve pressing social needs.
