Football fans are known for being loud and proud – and now they can hear their favourite terrace chants from their own homes.
The football season has been underway for well over a month now, and Amazon have revealed that supporters of UK-based clubs can now use virtual assistant Alexa to sing popular songs or chants about an opponent or rival clubs.
Teams throughout the top flight, as well as in the Championship, League One and Scotland, help a number of different fans at 40 clubs to get more involved with the matches.
It can be as simple as: “Going to the London Stadium? Don’t forget your binoculars” if you wanted to aim an insult at a West Ham fan.
It will add an extra edge to matches when they come up against their biggest rivals, both before and after the match for many supporters.
The latest Alexa update has also provided a chant for Manchester City fans – “We’ve got Guardiola” – which is a popular song among the City faithful.
To hear Man United’s ‘Ole’s at the wheel’ chant, Red Devils fans simply need to say “Alexa, sing me a Man United song” and they can sing along with Alexa to the Old Trafford favourite.
Fans of rival clubs often debate who is better and this can be settled through the latest Alexa update, allowing supporters to know exact stats of star players and teams.
The rivalry between Aston Villa and Birmingham is one of the fiercest in the country and following Villa’s promotion last season, their fans have got the opportunity to make Blues fans even more further aware of this.
“Looking on the bright side, at least Birmingham won’t have to worry about Villa taking six points off them again this season,” is one of the quotes Alexa will now reveal.
The group of 40 clubs which have chants and songs available are:
