Ribery, who had been subbed off in the second half after assisting Federico Chiesa for Fiorentina’s goal, let his frustrations be known at full-time.
The French forward was visibly frustrated with officials and was captured shoving a linesman multiple times.
He was pulled away by a member of the Fiorentina coaching staff.
It was confirmed following the game that the 36-year-old had been given a red card and is now facing a lengthy suspension.
The duo have complimented one another well in their roles as an unorthodox striking partnership.
Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso shared Ribery’s frustrations at the result and explained post-match that ‘what happened was a bit scandalous.’
Per Football Italia, he stated.
“I’m not feeling great right now,” he told Radio Anch’io Sport.
“I’m in the US right now, I left Italy after the game against Juventus but I didn’t like what happened last night against Lazio.
“We have replays in the US, but now in Italy I understand them more. I believe what happened yesterday was a bit scandalous.
“Ribery, the poor lad, was a bit nervous making a mistake, even if he maybe he had reason to. But everything starts from a foul that wasn’t given.”
The Florence outfit currently sit 9th in Serie A after nine games and face Sassuolo on Saturday.
