Ghana’s most innovative, and number one party station, Y107.9FM, for the third edition of the most talked about quarantine show, Y-rated, is set to join forces with its two sister stations, YFM Kumasi and YFM Takoradi to bring viewers triple the excitement.
Y-rated is an initiative backed by the sole aim of keeping the Y-army entertained while keeping safe at home. The show basically, is a virtual performance by selected artistes live-rapping on a beat (freestyle or acoustic).
The first edition of the Y-rated was launched on 27th March, and featured fast-rising acts, Shugalord, Cj Biggerman & OB Kay.
The second edition also went down on Friday, 1st May, with the smooth, vocal Enam, Shugalord and Kobla Jnr.
Y-rated has been entertaining audience with artiste trios but who would have thought of a trio of the radio itself! The third edition of Y-rated will involve the triangle – Yfm Accra , Takoradi and Kumasi, featuring one act each.
The show which will be broadcast live on Facebook across the Yfm triangle, will commence with Y97.9FM Takoradi featuring fast-rising rapper, Ayisem. Next will be Y102.5FM Kumasi bringing on the jaw-dropping rapper, Strongman Burner, and Y107.9FM Accra with Ghana’s most entertaining boy-band, Dark Suburb.
Programmes Manager for YFM Accra, Eddy Blay, providing information about the programme, said, “The third edition of Y-rated, which comes off on Friday, the 5th of June,will start at exactly 6pm from Takoradi, Kumasi will takeover at 7pm and then at 8pm, we’ll spoil our Y-army with the final bit from Accra.
