Yfm presenter and hip-hop artiste, Kula, has narrated how he gradually began to grow interest in radio presenting.
Speaking about the Y-Refresh initiative by Yfm, with host, Foster Romanus on the Late Nite Celebrity Show on eTV Ghana, he gave this explanation to debunk sayings that he may have gotten into radio presenting because his music career was not going so well.
According to Kula, he has had two passions since childhood, which is music and radio.
“My dad is a videographer and photographer so what he used to do was take videos at people’s funerals or weddings and ran commentaries on them. I used to watch all those things that he was doing and it was just like radio so it gave me that kind of urge to get on the mic”, he said.
The multi-talent continued by saying that doing music and being on radio has always been a passion, however, he started first with his music and when he felt it was time to get on the radio, he then enrolled in a radio school.
“I went to school to get professional training and after that, I joined Yfm. That was three years ago”.
Kula is a hip-hop/rap artists known popularly for songs like ‘one’ and ‘murder’ among others. He is also one of Y107.9FM’s hottest presenters known for hosting the Lyricist Lounge which airs on Wednesday from 10pm to midnight and Wake’n’Bake which airs every Saturday, 6-9am.
