International motivational speaker, author and minister, Albert Ocran has shared that what a person is told over and over again can influence one’s outlook and according to him, that is one of the biggest lessons he learnt from his alma mater, Mfantsipim Senior High School.
In an interview with Rev.Erskine on the Y Leaderboard Series, he disclosed: “The biggest lesson from Mfantsipim was the fact that what you are told can influence you. Anything I talk about over and over again can reproduce itself. So when I talk about the good of society; the good things people are doing, somebody listening will say I can also do it and do good things.
When I went to Mfantsipim, I realized that right from day one, you are told you are in the best school. And you are told over and over that you are among the best; you are hanging out with the best people. So literally everyone believed that we were in the best place and the best company and it did influence how we carried ourselves; how we spoke, how we thought.
Again, I tell myself that the opportunities that were given to students in Mfantsipim were probably given to students in every other school but the socialization or orientation was so strong and self-reinforcing and till today we still believe it”.
He noted that the orientation given at the school had contributed to the long-standing brotherhood that past students of the school enjoy till date.
He further encouraged parents to adopt the strategy of positivity in training their children in order to shape their children in the right direction.
Albert Ocran is recognized for his passion for challenging people to reach their full potential and live out their God-given dreams. He serves as Executive Pastor at ICGC Christ Temple.
Together with his wife, Comfort Ocran, he has authored books such as ‘Speak Like A Pro: 10 Commandments of Public Speaking’, ‘101 Keys to Achievement and Fulfillment’, ‘1001 Tips For An Outstanding Life’, among others.
