London based rap collective, NSG, have named their favourites among the musicians in Ghana, and have promised to release back to back local collaborations with the lot soon.
They noted that when it comes to the local artistes, they listen to almost everyone from King Promise to Toyboy to Kwesi Arthur and the likes. Talk of the music groups in Ghana, they mentioned La Meme Gang and the zanku twins ’Dope Nation’.
“I was listening to one of Dope Nation’s songs and I feel it’s hard. I don’t remember the title of the song but I watched it on YouTube and it looked like they were in church attire. That’s really sick. It’s the deal”, they said in an interview with host, Kojo Manuel on YFM’s Dryve of Your Lyfe.
NSG went on to add Shatta Wale to their list. “SM is everywhere. You know, growing up to Afrobeats, Shatta was doing all the bangers. Shoutout to all the legends like Sarkodie, R2Bees, big ups to Stonebwoy as well. We listen to literally everyone”.
Questioned on whether they are working on any collaborations with any Ghanaian artistes, they replied in the affirmative and urged fans to look out for a mad NSG x Kwesi Arthur song and music video as well.
“Every artist you’d want us to work with in Ghana, we pretty much have vibed with. From the big artistes to the small, we’ve vibed with them or we have something with them”, they further assured.
NSG disclosed that they will be releasing lots of collaborations with local artistes soon and when they do, it will be huge. “With NSG, it’s all about timing and that is why we keep making these trips back home to set the foundation”.
