Instagram had given us almost everything we ever wanted… except the ability to zoom. But now, we have that too! Thank you Instagram, we love you.
After Instagram gave us multi-account support back in November, we thought there was not much left for the platform to do for us humble users. But then we got landscape and full portrait images. And what about when to our surprise, a few weeks ago, Instagram gave us Stories. I was delighted, excited and satisfied. So much so, that I had almost forgotten about one of the biggest mobile usage frustrations shared by millions: not being able to zoom in on an Instagram image!
I surprised myself having to screenshot my feed to then be able to zoom in from my camera roll. NOT PRACTICAL.
So imagine how happy I was, when I found out we could finally pinch-to-zoom on Instagram for iOS.
The new feature lets you zoom in on both photos and videos on Instagram, and on your feed, profile pages, and the Explore tab.
If you’re an Android user, don’t despair. Instagram zoom will be available on Android “in the coming weeks.”
Ok, I have to go now, I will be zooming in on all the photos coming up on my feed.
