Sergio Aguero scored his eighth goal in five Premier League game and bagged a back-to-back hat-trick as Manchester City battered Chelsea but some Fantasy Football managers got too excited by his performance.
I admit it, I’m not very good at Fantasy Football and there’s no greater evidence for this than the fact I’ve had no Manchester City players in my team for the past couple of weeks, even in last week’s double game week, oh Ryan!
Sergio Aguero decided to put a real exclamation mark on my stupidity by scoring a second hat-trick of the week to earn himself and lots of other people 17 points, or 34 for anyone smart enough to captain him.
Really the City forward should have knocked in a fourth game on Sunday as he missed an open goal in the first half, haha screw you people with him in your team.
However if you think I’m an idiot for not having Aguero, and who could blame you, then let me introduce you to 48,223 managers who have done worse.
Enough people to nearly fill Sunderland’s Stadium of Light have already transferred Aguero in for Game Week 27, even though City don’t have a fixture:
It’s double stupidity because City don’t play in the Premier League for their next three fixtures. First they play Newport County in the FA Cup next weekend, then Schalke the following midweek and then Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final.
That 24th February fixture is on Gameweek 27 and the Premier League champions played their fixture against Everton last Wednesday.
Pep Guardiola’s side don’t play in the league again until the 27th of this month, when they face West Ham, that’s a long time not to get injured.
You have to wonder if those who have transferred him in already will be willing to take a four point hit in 12 days time when the Premier League reconvenes.
Before City play again Liverpool have their game in hand when the Reds go to Old Trafford knowing a loss would keep them second.
