Ace sports journalist Christopher Opoku is dead

Reports indicate ace broadcaster Christopher Opoku has passed on in the UK.
The Ghanaian journalist battled with cancer for quite a number of years and was off air for over a year, on sick leave.
The late journalist is best known for his quality sports presenting and has been hailed by some as Ghana’s finest football commentator on television.
Chris was married with three daughters.

Christopher Opoku was born in Kumasi and had his secondary school education at Kumasi High School.
He furthered his education at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (knust), where he read Computer Science.
Opoku was a resident of Queen Hall and he rose to become the president of the Junior Common Room, during his time.
Christopher Opoku began his journalism career at Luv FM, while he was still at KNUST as a sports journalist with the airwaves name Christopher Columbus and he was one of the few people who were loud in the air in the Ashanti region regarding sports journalism
Christopher Columbus is a versatile journalist, so at a point he moved away from his comfort which is sports when he moved to Accra to work Joy FM and was at a point the host of Joy FM’s flagship show- the Super Morning Show.
Opoku for several years worked with Metro TV as head of sports and also worked with GTV.
He also worked for Asempa FM as the head of sports and during the later part of his life on earth, he worked with Citi FM as a Newscaster.
The deceased was also the brain behind Footy-Ghana, one of Ghana’s sports portal.
Christopher Opoku battled with cancer for several years until he passed away while receiving treatment in UK on Wednesday.
