Mila Smith is hitting the ground running with her first single of 2025, Stranger. With its soothing bass line, dreamy synths and hypnotically rich vocals – Stranger is a poignant love letter to someone who is physically miles away but whose impact never truly fades. Stranger signifies that love can conquer any obstacle – including distance.
“You’re at the airport with your loved one. After that gut wrenching goodbye hug and drying your teary eyes you say: “Promise me I’ll see you later. Promise you won’t be a stranger”.
Produced by Jono Greyling and mixed and mastered by Mike Zietsman, Stranger is described as: “The song you play on the scenic route with the windows down, the ear-worm that miraculously never gets old and the track that helps bridge the gap between you and a loved one faraway”
Mila Smith is a 20-year-old SAMA Nominated singer/songwriter and actress born and bred in Cape Town, South Africa. A disco pop anthem that reached number 1 on the 5fm SA Top 10 charts for 3 weeks running, with its Tensnake Remix garnering over 400 000 streams. Her second release, a gentle ballad titled Reassemble Myself, came out in September 2021 and her versatility was further cemented with the release of her third single, Nice Guy, a pop-punk song that screams rebellion and a farewell to being Nice. That same year Mila matriculated with distinction in drama and secured the ‘Best Actress’ award at the Stellenbosch Eisteddfod.
