Asante Kotoko Chairman on Wednesday 20th September cut a sod at the club’s Adako Jachie training ground for the construction of a 20,000 seater stadium.
The club Executive Director earlier this year reached an agreement with an unnamed architect who inspected the venue and began preparations to construct a 20,000 capacity Stadium at the club’s current training ground at Adako Jachie.
The ground-breaking project, being partly funded by Mobile Telecom giants MTN, is part of an overall regional economic development plan designed to host Asante Kotoko’s home games in the premier league and other continental tournaments.
Aside the 20,000 edifice, the facility will come along with all the medical and rehab facilities.
The project is expected to be completed within the 3-year mandate given to Dr. Kwame Kyei to run Kotoko.
