Ghanaian high-profile photographer, Emmanuel Mensah Agbegble, professionally known as APM World has revealed that his unique style and success are founded by the bad experiences of his early days in the photography fraternity.
APM World’s career which began as a hobby, has featured many internationally recognized figures since 2015, wielding the fingers behind the most iconic photos and videos of African superstars like Burnaboy, Davido, Asake, Bnxn (fka. Buju), Stonebwoy, Wizkid, Black Sherif, Ruger, Kwesi Arthur, Gyakie, Show Dem Camp, M.anifest, Firebwoy among others.
In an interview on Y107.9FM’s Dryve Of Your Lyfe, with host Kojo Manuel, the creative director disclosed that, he did not plan to become a photographer, let alone come this far. He added that there were many circumstances that gave him a valid reason to abort his career as a photo professional. “I was running away from the photography fraternity for a very long time. I actually wanted to play for the NBA.”
However, the award winning photographer noted that these experiences doubled as the motivation he needed to go beyond average to carve out what he would become today. “I’ve had so many experiences, it’s from these experiences I learnt how to restructure and grow. I learnt from them.” he explained.
