Andrews Quansah started playing football with small teams in Tema community 4 back in the ’70s.
The first team he played for professionally was the Black Arrows in Tema Community 7 before he moved back to community 4 to play with Complex Stars.
He then moved to Nsaba 11 Wonders in the Central Region in a small town called Agona Nsaba in the late ’70s.
After a short stint in the Central Region, he came back to Adabraka in Accra to play with Mighty Arrows.
His form peaked at Mighty Arrows and Olympics poached him for 1982 to 1984 season.
Between 1984 and 1986 Andrews Quansah joined Hearts.
Dr. NyahoNyaho Tamakloe in ’86 told them before they went to play a match in Libya he will sack all hearts players after champion of champions whether win or lose, this made him make a move to Kwahu United after the match. He played at Kwahu United from 1986 to 1987.
During his time at Hearts of Oak, he was part of the national team that played the World Cup qualifying series in Bengazi in 1985.
Later in his career, he moved to Nigeria where he stayed in Plato state. He played for Highlanders United and later played for Plato United in 1988.
Andrews Quansah moved to Imo State after negotiations to play with the Imo State team but he could not return to Nigeria after a trip to Ghana.
While in Ghana, the Imo State team had a plane crash on their way to play a match which he would have been a part of if his signing deal with Imo State had materialized.
He was part of the Black Meteors team that included Mohammed Adu And Kwesi Appiah and they won a medal together.
After hanging his boots, Andrews Quansah came back to Tema and started coaching Prisco FC. He later became the goalkeeper’s trainer at Real Sportive and left when Y. A Abrahim sold the team to Herbert Mensah.
He later settled in Community 4 to pick random goalkeepers and train them. He got married in 1984 and a father to four sons.
