Colombia against Peru eventually finished 1-1 – a result left Colombia with a place in the 2018 World Cup, while handing Peru with a play-off place. Ricardo Gareca’s side will now prepare to face New Zealand over a two-legged play-off.
Plenty questioned Colombia striker Radamel Falcao’s actions towards the end of the game, with some suggesting he was telling Peru to play out the draw that helped both sides.

Colombia and Monaco striker Falcao has also spoken about the controversy, saying:
“We knew what was happening in the other matches, we were playing with (the knowledge of) the other results and in that moment (I tried) to transmit that (to Peru).” via Fox Sports Asia.
Chile fans won’t be happy with what happened on Tuesday night, but if they’d only lost 2-1 to Brazil, then they’d have been in the play-off instead of Peru.
