Award winning Rapper/Producer and businessman, Cassper Nyovest, and multi-talented Actor/Musician, NaakMusiq, are ready to fight it out at the Sun City Superbowl on the 9th April 2022. The revered artists are taking things up a notch by adding boxing to their lengthy resumes.
The Celeb City Boxing Exhibition fight is not only a one-night fight but an exhilarating weekend experience with incredible parties and musical performances from the 8th-10th April.
To sum up the weekend event, Celeb City has added a heavy entertainment line-up, the likes of; Nasty C, Blxckie, DJ Sumbody, DJ Zinhle, Uncle Waffles, Big Zulu, Zakes Bantwini, Young Stunna, Daliwonga, Culoe De Song, Ayanda MVP, DJ Thuli P, De Mthuda, DJ Sphe and Naves among others.
Not only will they be taking on each other, there will be a host of other professional boxers also battling it out for various titles. Celeb City is thrilled to partner with Boxing South Africa in staging this auspicious event. History will be made!
Cassper Nyovest, whose real name is Refiloe Phoolo, is known for his countless hits, from Gusheshe, Doc Shebeleza, Tito Mboweni and Siyathandana among many others. Abuti Fill Up as he is fondly known to fans, has been training relentlessly for the big day in Sun City. Flanked by supportive friends and coaches, he has taken it upon himself to be at his fittest, following a rigorous training schedule. The 31-year-old is excited to be taking on NaakMusiq, “I am excited about this fight, I know that NaakMusiq will bring his A-game, we are both very strong-willed people and this will definitely be one for the books. I just know that the title is mine…” commented Cassper.
Born Anga Makubalo in Port Elizabeth, NaakMusiq has a glittering profile as a celebrated actor, known for his roles on Generations, Isidingo and Igazi. He is also a recording artist known for songs such as Crazy, Qina and Ndiyindoda among others. Much like Cassper Nyovest, NaakMusiq has also been living at the gym ready to take the title. “I love a good challenge, I respect Cassper as an entertainer and businessman, I saw an opportunity and ran with it. I am ready to battle it out in the ring, man to man. It will be a spectacular show, I am also blessed with the best training team that keeps me motivated. Fans must come watch the fight in Sun City”. “Training NaakMusiq was exciting, he just started boxing now. It was a bit challenging for both of us but an exciting challenge. I love that Naak is teachable, always eager to learn. He is naturally fit; he does a lot of weightlifting and the transition to boxing was a bit challenging because boxing requires flexibility. We had a lot of fun training and most importantly he wants to win. I like winning and therefore training with him has been incredible”, commented Xolisani “Nomeva” Ndongeni.
“We actually feel blessed. We are happy to be taking boxing back to Sun City because it’s been a while since we last had boxing there. The good thing is that we will have celebrity boxing, which for us is an opportunity to bring boxing to everyone,” TLB Boxing Promotions boss Joyce Kungwane said.
