Telecommunications giant, MTN Ghana, together with the South African community in Ghana has marked South Africa’s 23rd Freedom Day in a colourful golf tournament at the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono.
The event saw over 120 golfers participating in the sport and funfair to celebrate the great feat in South Africa’s history.
Miss Eloise Aseda Wilson the youngest golfer on the day stunned golf fanatics with her incredible golfing skills by emerging co-winner for the ladies’ category together with Mrs. Adelaide Owusu Adjepong while Joe Dadson and Sampson Asorgba also emerged co-winners for the men’s category.
Senior Manager, Regulatory, at MTN Ghana Mr. Sam Koranteng said;
“MTN is delighted to be associated with this event as part of our commitment to supporting sporting activities in Ghana; particularly golf and soccer. We are also glad to share in the joy of South Africa on this memorable day in the country’s history.”
“We look to continuing our relationship with the South African community and we are encouraging all to take an active interest in fun and healthy sporting activities like golf.” He added.
Freedom Day is an annual celebration of South Africa’s first non-racial democratic elections of 1994 which demonstrated Peace, Unity, the preservation and the restoration of human dignity hence the hallmark Freedom Day celebrations on the 27th of April each year.
This year’s event is proudly headlined by the South African Telecommunication Giant, MTN Ghana, supported by Multichoice, Shoprite, Distell, Afgri Ghana and Swiss Spirit. Media partners include e.TV, Happy FM and YFM.
