The Premier League decided Chelsea will face a fine of 10.75million and one window suspended transfer ban for ‘historical rule breaches.’
“The Premier League has completed two separate disciplinary investigations expressing Chelsea FC, after they voluntarily reported potential historic breaches of the rules,” the league said.
An independent commission has endorsed two sanction agreements, under which Chelsea FC agreed to pay the league GBP10.75m in fines for breaching the rules on financial reporting, third-party investments and youth development.
“The club has suffered an instant nine-month academy transfer ban and a suspended first-teams transfer ban for nine-months (suspended for two-years).”
These breaches occurred from 2011-2018 under the ownership of Roman Abramovich at Chelsea.
During that period, the club paid third-party fees, which were not shared with the Premier League, that gave a benefit to Chelsea, the league said.
