Chelsea's Premier League Win Bonus Has Been Revealed

Victory against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthornes tonight will secure Chelsea their fifth Premier League title and, in turn, will also land their title winning players a healthy bonus in their next pay packets.
Tottenham’s 1-0 loss away to West Ham last Friday, coupled with Chelsea’s comfortable 3-0 defeat of Middlesbrough on Monday night has left Antonio Conte’s men needing just one more win to put the seal on a dominant Premier League campaign.
The Times have today revealed that Roman Abramovich has set aside £5million to be shared among his title winning squad.
The sum was decided by the Blues’ Russian owner at the beginning of the season and will be weighted more favourably towards those players who have made the most appearances during the victorious campaign, with the likes of Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and N’Golo Kante pocketing more than the likes of Michy Batshuayi, for instance.
Ten percent of the bonus fund will be split among players who have primarily been unused substitutes and non travelling squad members during the campaign, which is a group that includes club captain John Terry.
On average, each Blues player will receive roughly £217,000 each. While in modern football terms that may not sound like a fortune, earning almost a quarter of a million pounds as a bonus isn’t exactly peanuts, either.
Not bad work, if you can get it.
