Christian Eriksen has shut down a crazy rumour that team-mate Jan Vertonghen slept with his girlfriend as “bullsh*t”.
An outrageous claim on social media said that Harry Kane was involved in a bust-up with Vertonghen because the defender slept with Eriksen’s partner.
But Eriksen, 27, emphatically denied the rumour on Twitter, calling it “bullsh*t”.
The Spurs star has been with his partner Sabrina Kvist since 2012.
Rumours online recently claimed she had been unfaithful with Eriksen’s team-mate Vertonghen, but both of them have moved to shut down the fake news.
After Eriksen posted “bullsh*t” with a sleeping emoji, Vertonghen quoted the tweet and put up a love heart emoji.
The initial post that spread the false rumour read: “Christian Eriksen’s wife has reportedly been caught having an affair with his team-mate Jan Vertonghen.”
It also claimed there was a bust-up in the dressing room as a result, and that striker Kane was involved, and some photos of Vertonghen with a black eye were attached.
But both Eriksen and Vertonghen dismissed the outrageous claims that had been circulating on Twitter.
Eriksen looked set to leave Tottenham for Real Madrid this summer before a deal fell through.
Both Eriksen and Vertonghen played in the Tottenham horror show against the German champions in north London.
The pair have been team-mates since 2013 but also played together during their time at Ajax.
