When Christine Ansong, Esq. isn’t appearing on television and radio as a member of the NDC’s National Communications Team. She’s probably on TikTok, serving up satirical political commentary that’s both fun and educational.

That one-off hosting gig with gospel artist Philipa Baafi on a breakfast show? Just another day in the life of someone who refuses to stay in one lane. But here’s where she truly shines: as Deputy CEO of Ghana Digital Centres Ltd, she’s building the digital infrastructure that’s transforming how Ghanaians access technology and opportunity.

As Chief Operations Officer, Christine oversees the managers and department heads who’ve helped Ghana Digital Centres host over 60 tech companies, create more than 3,000 jobs, support over 500 startups, and train more than 10,000 young people. These numbers are lives changed, families supported, futures built. And she’s just getting started.

“I believe women should be at the forefront of political conversations,” she says, and she means it. Her work at Ghana Digital Centres is not only about technology; it’s also about making sure everyone, especially women, gets a fair shot at the digital economy. “Digital inclusion is not optional anymore, it is survival,” she told participants at the GDCL-UCLA Early-Stage Entrepreneurship Training Programme. “When girls in rural areas cannot see themselves in tech because there are no role models near them, we waste half our talent.”

She puts her money where her mouth is. When Bubune Biana Bottozah from Tarkwa needed support to compete at Ms. Geek Africa 2025, Christine led the team that took her to a bootcamp in Kigali and supported her through the finals in Conakry. Bubune came back with second place and a mission to fight illegal mining with technology. Christine is still mentoring her, helping turn EcoWatch from an idea into a real business. “That is what we do here,” Christine explains. “We turn dreams into businesses and young people into entrepreneurs.”

Her 2026 plans are big. She’s launching the Women’s Digital Safety and Inclusion Initiative, running monthly digital safety workshops across six to sixteen regions, training 2,000 women in their first year. There’s economic training too; e-commerce, mobile money security, safe social media for business, reaching 500 women entrepreneurs. She’s also building a tech career programme with cybersecurity training and certification prep, aiming to place 100 women in tech jobs annually. And she’s tackling something personal, training journalists on ethical storytelling, because she’s seen too many vulnerable women exploited on TV and radio for ratings without support or consent.

The plan includes an Annual Women’s Digital Safety Summit bringing together over 500 policymakers, tech leaders and community organisations, plus a “Dignity in Reporting” certification for journalists who complete the ethics training. But her biggest goal? Taking the Accra Digital Centre’s success to all sixteen regions so a young person in Tamale doesn’t have to travel to Accra for world-class training.

Now, let’s talk about how she got here. With a Professional Law Course from Ghana School of Law, an LLB from Wisconsin International University College, an MPhil in Clinical Psychology from the University of Ghana, and a BA in Psychology and Adult Education also from Legon, she’s built an impressive academic foundation. Currently a pupil at Ayine and Partners, she’s doing legal research and case analysis whilst simultaneously running operations at Ghana Digital Centres.

Since 2023, she’s been Board Secretary for CNA Group of Companies, and she’s worked as a Mental Health Consultant at Digital Reach Ltd, developing workplace mental health programmes and training on stress management. Her advocacy work includes speaking to law students about mental health, addressing drug addiction and gender-based violence, and running outreach programmes at the University of Ghana on anxiety, depression and rape prevention.

Her political work is just as hands-on. Since 2024, she’s been Deputy Organising Secretary for Legal Green at Ghana School of Law, and since 2020, she’s been an active member of the NDC National Communications Bureau, representing the party in debates on major television stations. She’s been Spokesperson for the Smile Again Campaign Team and a member of the Ghetto Connect Campaign Team, leading grassroots education and support.

And those TikTok videos? They’re brilliant. She breaks down what the NDC is doing for Ghana, calls out lies from opponents, and makes politics actually interesting. It’s political education that doesn’t feel like homework, and that’s exactly what young Ghanaians need.

Outside work, she’s vibing to Hadzi Vodushi, the Afro spiritualist artist whose music blends tradition with contemporary sounds, much like Christine blends her many talents. She’s fun, she’s bubbly, she’s serious about women’s leadership, and she’s absolutely committed to using technology to level the playing field.

What makes Christine stand out in Ghana’s digital space isn’t just what she knows; it’s what she does. She’s not waiting for someone else to build the infrastructure or create the opportunities. She’s doing it herself, one workshop at a time, one mentee at a time, one region at a time. Her legal training gives her the ability to understand systems. Her psychology background helps her understand people. Her political work gives her a platform for change. And her role at Ghana Digital Centres gives her the power to make it all happen.

As she continues building Ghana Digital Centres into a nationwide force for digital transformation, one thing is clear: Christine Ansong, Esq. isn’t just talking about digital inclusion and women’s empowerment. She’s making it happen, with concrete plans, measurable targets, and the kind of hands-on leadership that turns ideas into reality. And if she can do it with a bit of humour, some great music, and the occasional viral TikTok, all the better.

For anyone watching her journey, the message is simple: digital transformation isn’t coming someday. It’s happening right now, and Christine Ansong is one of the people making sure every Ghanaian, regardless of gender or location, gets to be part of it.
