e. TV Ghana and Japan Motors Corporate Run came off on Saturday 21st September at Silver Star Towers.
The annual 5km Run, saw over one hundred participants from various Corporate Institutions in Ghana coming together to run, walk, network and promote a healthy lifestyle through team building and physical activities.
The run started around 6:30am and saw the runners run through a mapped-out route from the Silver Star Towers to 37 Station, continuing to the El-Wak traffic light, then to the Airport roundabout, to the Airport traffic light and finished at the Silver Star Towers.
The fastest CEO (Male) award went to Winston Nelson Jnr of Allianz Insurance. Reginald Ashitey of Blue Skies won the fastest managers male category with fastest Manager female category going to Eunice Hansen-Sackey of Global Media Alliance Group (GMA).
The fastest man and woman awards were grabbed by Asigbey Tony and Agnes Bayor both of Blue Skies.
Aaron Majusen won the fastest runner over sixty years (60). Brown Nii Kwei from the Ghana Blind Union (GBU) also won the fastest visually impaired runner with a record time of 33 minutes 5 seconds.
Brown Nii Kwei received Ghana’s Ambassador to China, H.E Edward Boateng’s One Thousand Ghana cedis (GHc 1000) cash prize.
Fankies Food and Room won the coveted Yamaha Motorcycle from Japan Motors as the fastest Corporate Team.
Speaking on the side-lines of the Corporate Run, Programmes Manager of e.TV Ghana, Nosisa Doe said: “The e.TV Ghana and Japan Motors Corporate Run has once again created the environment for people to network and exercise with others in the corporate industry. We had a thrilling moment as this year’s event featured a dancing competition which saw the winners receive complimentary tickets to the upcoming African Legends Night.
Next year’s Corporate Run will mark the tenth anniversary of this event and it promises to be even bigger and better. Until then, I will encourage everyone to maintain a healthy lifestyle.”
According to Mrs. Nosisa Doe, GHc 7 from each registration has been set aside and an additional sum of Two Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 2000) from H.E Edward Boateng will be donated to the Ghana Blind Union.
On his part, Mr. Salah Kweku Kalmoni, Event Director of Corporate Run, commended all the Corporate Institutions that took part in the run. “We appreciate all the corporate institutions that participated in this year’s event. We are truly thankful to all our sponsors for partnering with us to make the Corporate Run successful.” he said.
Mr. Brown Nii Kwei who won the fastest blind runner expressed gratitude to the organizers.
