Cristiano Ronaldo Breaks Down In Tears After He's Shown Unseen Footage Of His Late Father

Cristiano Ronaldo broke down in a flood of tears as Piers Morgan showed him never-before-seen footage of his late father praising his son.
The Good Morning Britain co-host’s upcoming documentary, Cristiano Ronaldo Meets Piers Morgan, is set to premiere on Tuesday at 9pm UK time on ITV.

And ITV released an extract of the documentary that had the outspoken Morgan share a clip with Ronaldo from his late dad, Jose Dinis Aveiro.
The clip was filmed before the Juventus superstar’s father died of alcoholism in 2005 and had him being interviewed outside his home for Norwegian TV.
Dinis spoke candidly about his son and expressed how proud he was of him, which left Ronaldo weeping at the footage of his father.
“I never saw the video,” he told Morgan.
“I never saw that video. Unbelievable.”

The ex-Daily Mirror editor said to Ronaldo that “[hearing] your father speak about how proud he was of you must mean a lot to you.”
And to which the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star responded: “Yes, a lot.
“I think the interview would be funny, but I didn’t expect to cry.
“But I never saw these images. I don’t know where you… I have to have these images to show my family.
“But I really don’t know my father 100 per cent.
“He was a drunk person. I never spoke with him, like a normal conversation. It was hard.”

The 34-year-old Portuguese forward admitted that he was disappointed that his father couldn’t see him become one of the best footballers the sport has ever seen.
After Piers commented that Dinis never “saw how great you became,” Ronaldo responded: “Never. Never.”
Ronaldo’s mother, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, previously opened up about how difficult life became with Dinis and his battle with alcoholism.
She said: “He was drunk almost every day. I never really knew him well. I would have liked him to have been around more.
“Although he never mistreated his children, I became his victim.”
Ronaldo, who missed out on the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award to Virgil van Dijk, last month revealed that his son Cristiano Jr was stunned when he showed him the conditions of where he lived as a teenager.
