Just a not-so-subtle dig at Real Madrid by Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 33-year-old has spoken candidly about his stunning £100 million transfer to Juventus, talking up his new teammates while aiming a jab at his former side.
Ronaldo now calls the likes of Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic, among many others, as colleagues, and he’s been thoroughly impressed.
“It is not fair to only mention some,” he said to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport when asked about what players had impressed him.
One thing is for sure, though. This is the ‘best group’ Ronaldo has played with. High praise indeed.
“But I can say that this is the best group that I have played with,” he added.
“Here we are a team. In other places some feel bigger than the rest, but here they are all on the same level, they are humble and they want to win.
“If Dybala or Mandzukic don’t score, they are still happy and they smile. It’s really nice and I can see the difference.”
Before firing shots at Real Madrid. “In Madrid they are humble but here I feel they are more so.
“It is very different from Madrid; this is a family.”
He’s also insisted that Juventus don’t need any other Real Madrid players.
“I see what they write about James, Bale, Asensio… but, to be honest, Juventus don’t need other players. You should speak to the president.”
However, he has identified Marcelo as a potential signing.
“In the future, I don’t know. Marcelo is strong. We open the doors to good players and Marcelo is one of them.”
Ronaldo and Marcelo share a special friendship with reports suggesting Juventus are eyeing up a move for the Brazilian full-back.
