Raul Meireles all but ended any hopes of a career in fashion as he stole the show with a vastly oversized black and white jacket at the opening of Cristiano Ronaldo‘s new hair transplant clinic.
Meireles joined star names including former Arsenal invincible Robert Pires and Manchester United‘s former defender Rio Ferdinand at the clinic’s unveiling in Madrid.
And the former Chelsea midfielder, who retired from football in 2016 after a four-year stay at Fenerbahce, donned an enormous striped jacket as the group posed for a photo that was later shared on Instagram by Ronaldo.
The picture was posted with the caption ‘team’ and featured the Juventus forward with his son, Cristiano Jr., front and centre.
The Zebra-inspired fashion crime itself was a black and white number which stretched beyond his knees while the sleeves extended over his hands.
Meireles may have missed the smart-casual memo as the rest of the attendees were more modestly dressed.
The 35-year-old was joined by former Chelsea team-mate Jose Bosingwa, Pires, Spain and Real Madrid legend Fernando Hierro and Parma centre-back Bruno Alves.
The hair transplant company, which is called ‘Insparya’ and translates to ‘inspire’ in English from Portuguese, have 10 centres across Portugal including in Lisbon, Porto and the Algarve.
The football stars were all in attendance as the Madrid clinic is the company’s first of its kind outside of Portugal and is owned by Ronaldo.
Ronaldo also received a large bouquet of roses from his partner, sent on behalf of his children.
Georgina Rodriguez posted the image of the Juventus star on her Instagram story, with the caption ‘te amamos papa’, which translates as ‘we love you dad’.
The Spanish model’s post comes after Father’s Day in Portugal and Spain yesterday.
Ronaldo was rested for Juventus’ first defeat in Serie A this season against Genoa on Saturday.
He has since linked up with the Portugal squad as they prepare to kick off their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign against Ukraine on Friday.
