Ghana’s dance superstar Dancegod Lloyd has recently revealed that he is up for the “Best African Dancer” at the AFRIMMA Awards in 2022.
The dancer’s nomination comes as a timely victory considering the alleged relationship meltdown with his dance crew and manager.
Lloyd recently missed an important performance at the Global Citizen event by American singer and dancer Usher.

The big list of the much-anticipated Nominees List of the prestigious African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) was released by the organizers a couple of weeks ago.
After a two-year period of virtual shows due to the impact of the pandemic, AFRIMMA Awards is set to return on the 19th of November at the Gilley’s Event Center in Dallas, Texas.
With the theme, “This is Africa,” the award presentation aims to build on the success of past ceremonies and the rapid expansion of African music culture. The African music landscape has had a tremendous year of outstanding music, and many African musicians did the continent proud.
Ammarae, Mahkhadzi, Gambo, and DJ Snake are just a few of the celebrities who received their first AFRIMMA nominations on a list that is incredibly competitive in every category. The motivation behind the AFRIMMA Awards has been to celebrate African music and African music artists, and the organisation has continually promoted African music on the international arena since its beginnings. As African celebrities raise the flags of their nations in various categories of nominations, it is expected to be another chapter in history.
