Ghanaian beat producer and music fanatic, Vacs has expressed his displeasure in international music sensation, Paul Nii Amu Andrews Darko, known in the music industry as Darkovibes, for making strides in the music industry without him as his very first music producer and mutual friend.
In an interview with Brown Berry, host of Ryse N’ Shyne on Y107.9FM, Vacs said that Darko was bound for greatness. He noted this as the reason he never charged Darko for beats he made for his songs. “It got to a time Darko started getting noticed; he blew up with the Mercy song and Tomorrow also followed; I did all these works for free because he is my guy, I know him and we did everything together.”
The music producer as a friend of the star, reached out to Darkovibes after a while of not hearing from him. According to the mixing engineer, Darkovibes desired to move with a ‘new set of friends’ which implied that he(Vacs) was not a part of. “I did not understand why he blew up and then all of a sudden he does not come around anymore; I called him and asked him why he does not get in touch with us back home and what he said was that he has found ‘new friends’ and that when we all make money we will be happy.”
Vacs however stated that he maintained a smooth friendship with Darkovibes right from his days as an underground artiste until stardom. He has solid imprints on, Darkovibes’ debut hit song titled ‘Mercy’, released in 2016 and prelude banger ‘Tomorrow’, released in 2017. “Darko and I never had bad blood; it was just the usual banter between us as close friends; I believed in him and I invested in him; his first song that put him out there was produced, mixed and mastered by me for free; I have always wanted the best for him.”
