Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Davido is now under investigation by the Nigerian police following a report filed by fellow singer Tiwa Savage.
The probe revolves around allegations of bullying and threats made against Tiwa’s life by the “Unavailable” hitmaker.
The rift between the two music powerhouses reportedly ignited last month when Tiwa Savage shared a photo of herself alongside the mother of one of Davido’s children on her Instagram story.
This seemingly innocuous gesture, however, set off a chain of events leading to a formal police investigation.
According to Tiwa Savage’s police report, which has been widely covered by local news outlets, Davido interpreted the Instagram post as a taunt against him.
In response, Tiwa claims that Davido verbally attacked her, using “disrespectful, malicious, and derogatory words.”
The situation escalated further when Tiwa accused Davido of sending individuals to caution her to “be careful in Lagos.” She perceives this as a direct threat to her “rights to life, privacy, and dignity,” labeling the action as unethical.
As of now, Davido has not officially responded to these serious allegations. The tensions between the two stars have become apparent on social media as they have unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Lagos state police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin has confirmed the receipt of Tiwa Savage’s report and stated that investigations are underway, adding another layer of intrigue to this unfolding pop-culture drama.
