DJ Kess, Head of Music at Y107.9FM Accra, has been nominated for Radio DJ of the Year at the 15th Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards.
A trailblazer in Ghana’s music scene, DJ Kess has earned widespread acclaim for championing both established and emerging Ghanaian artists. Her influence spans the continent, with standout performances at major events including Big Brother Africa House Party (South Africa), Etisalat Epiq Nation (Benin), and multiple shows across Liberia and Nigeria.
DJ Kess has broken barriers in the male-dominated DJ industry, securing Best Female DJ at the Ghana DJ Awards for two consecutive years and Best Radio DJ in 2018.
Currently hosting Y Lounge with Akosua Hanson (Monday–Thursday, 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM) and curating the popular Hip Hop Wednesdays event, her recent highlights include performances at Afronation and December’s Hip Hop Africa Festival alongside Bella Afrik and Lennox Bar.
