Ghanaian comedian, Derrick Kobina Bonney popularly known as DKB earlier sent a heartfelt word of advice to Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew to play better and prove doubters wrong after their World Cup group opener against Portugal at Stadium 974 in Doha, Qatar ended in a 3-2 defeat to the Black Stars.
The Ghanaian comedian seemed unhappy with the performance of the players and results of the game played on Thursday, November 24, 2022. He expressed his views in an exclusive interview during Happy 98.9 FM’s World Cup viewing party at the Achimota Mall, Accra.
He reiterated that Ghanaians have the tendency of always finding someone to blame after the Black Stars lose a match and were already blaming the Crystal Palace forward for the defeat in their very first match in the 2022 World Cup.
“Jordan, you know so many people are against you so when you get the chance don’t lose guard” DKB echoed. He also mentioned that anytime Jordan Ayew is given the chance to play, spectators get worried and therefore urged him to change the narrative.
Reality hits, and DKB’s wish comes true as Jordan Ayew brings out the football beast in him and displays breathtaking football techniques in Black Stars’ recent match against South Korea which was held on Monday, November 28 2022 at Doha’s Education City Stadium.
Ghanaians applauded Jordan Ayew for the assist he made leading to Ghana’s first goal. The Black Stars eventually beat the South Koreans in a 3:2 dramatic performance. They will face Uruguay in the last group game on Friday, December 2 as many believe to be the time for revenge following the infamous Luiz Suarez incident in the 2010 World Cup.
